The 2016 Ships Reunion in Chattanooga was a outstanding success do to all the hard work by volunteers and our local Host Ed & Carol Gasior

We did a number of things differently this year that helped our treasury and was fun. After our Train ride and tour we had a pick nick lunch across the parking lot from the Tennessee Valley Rail road station. The weather was absolutely beautiful.

Thanks to the generous donations for the auction and the competitive biding during the live auction we were able to provide all the refreshments and snacks as we have in the past.

My Thanks to our volunteers that make every thing run so smooth.

All ready for one of the reunions tours, I think this one is for Lunch and a cruise

We used School buses for short ride to the River Boat, all aboard just like we were 10 years old

The Captain of the Southern Bell did the honors of casting the wreath onto the waters in memory of our departed crew members

Just in case you did not get a good look at the wreath . The wreath was donated by Ed & Carol Gasior our Host for Chattanooga

No pollywogs here. Two shellbacks enjoying the Sun and water watching the shore line pass by and keeping a eye out for pirates

The Chattanooga Choo Choo, hotel is the old historic train station converted to a Hotel

As we were staying at the Choo, Choo, it was appropriate we take a train ride (All Aboard)

Part of the rail line we traverse this day was same line used in the Great Train Chase that took place during the Civil War.

The Tennessee Valley Rail Road has their Round House or Tableout side better to see it operate.

After the Train Ride we had an picnic lunch with Fresh Cookies backed by Carolyn Cetnarowski and hard Boiled Eggs, Chips, Cheese and fruit provided by Carol & Trish . This was a first and most took advantage of the lunch as the bus would depart for Ruby Falls at 2:30

Every one enjoying the pick nick with the buses waiting for short ride back to the hotel

Ruby Falls features 145 foot water fall a mile and one half underground

They flood the falls with colored lights changing from red to green, it is quite striking.

Sailors out of their element,

Thanks to Bernie Korth for having Admiral Crates come and talk to us

I bet he stood along the rail many years ago, his thoughts are his own,

you can take the sailor away from the sea but he will always return.
